The La Estancia blend was developed by Jérémie and Joshua Meerapfel, the two brothers at the head of Belgian family firm Meerapfel & Söhne. The Meerapfels have an enviable reputation in the cigar industry for sourcing and brokering Cuban tobacco, as well as growing capes in Africa in Cameroon. “Someone had to do it,» Jérémie Meerapfel said of Estancia. “If you know my family history, you'll know that my grandfather Heller was one of the biggest buyers of Cuban tobacco.
