Founded in Havana in 1844 by the German banker Hermann Dietrich Upmann, H. Upmann has been a star performer from the outset, winning medals and distinctions at the world's fairs. Nationalized after the Revolution, the brand continues a heritage of over 175 years within Habanos S.A., combining European rigor with Cuban passion.
In 2006, as part of a rationalization of its catalog, Habanos S.A. selected five historic formats to form the Línea Clásica: from Petit Corona to Sir Winston, each vitola reflects the medium-bodied balance for which the house is renowned. The now-familiar blue and gold rings mark a blend of Habano-seed capes from Vuelta Abajo and tripa combining viso and ligero long-filler, aged for several months to preserve finesse and regularity.
Línea Clásica cigars reveal subtle aromas of sweet cocoa, light coffee and hazelnut, punctuated by a hint of spice. Thanks to entirely manual rolling at the José Martí factory and strict quality control, each format offers a balanced draw and even burn, allowing smokers to fully savor the Upmann heritage.
