Whisky Mitchell & Son

Mitchell & Son Wine Merchants was founded in 1805 and is now run by the 6th and 7th generations of the Mitchell family.

William Mitchell arrived in Ireland from the north of England in the early 1800s and set up a bakery in Fairview. In 1805, he bought 10 Grafton Street (where McDonalds now stands) and launched a business that included a bakery, café and confectionery. It soon became Dublin's most fashionable place to sip a coffee.
