Kilkerran

The Kilkerran brand has its roots in the historic Glengyle distillery, founded in 1872 by William Mitchell, after a demerger with his brother John, co-founder of Springbank. Located in Campbeltown, once a thriving whisky-producing region, Glengyle was closed in 1925 as a result of the Depression. The buildings remained well-maintained, however, enabling the distillery to be reborn at the beginning of the 21st century.

In 2000, Mitchell's Glengyle Ltd, led by Hedley G. Wright, the founder's great-nephew, acquired the distillery and launched a series of major renovations. In 2004, production of Kilkerran whisky began, marking the revival of a brand rooted in Campbeltown tradition, but reinvented for the 21st century. Kilkerran stands out for its ability to fuse historical heritage with contemporary innovation, offering refined, high-quality single malts. Since its inception, the brand has enriched its range of whiskies, proudly bearing the distillery's heritage while honoring the memory of its founders.
