Chartreuse

Chartreuse is a liqueur made at the Aiguenoire distillery in Entre-deux-Guiers, Isère, in the heart of the Chartreuse Massif, under the supervision of the Grande-Chartreuse monks. A liqueur with a very high alcohol content (55° for the verte), its sale is the Carthusian monks' main source of income.
