Armagnac Delord
The Delord company was founded in 1893 by Prosper Delord (an itinerant distiller) and his two sons, Gaston and Georges, in Lannepax, Gers. Prosper's grandsons Jacques and Pierre, along with Jérôme and Sylvain, continue the tradition. The vineyards are located in the commune of Lannepax, in the heart of Bas-Armagnac, and are planted with Baco 22A, Folle-blanche, Ugni blanc and Colombard grapes. The Delord distillery uses two traditional Armagnac stills. Over 1,000 oak barrels are kept in the cellars. The oldest Armagnacs are housed in a part of the cellar known as Le Paradis. In 2005, the company ranked 12th in the total Armagnac market, with an overall volume of around 100,000 bottles a year. More than 1,000 oak casks are used to mature Armagnac eaux de vie. The oldest of these was distilled in 1900 and is housed in Le Paradis with other Armagnac eaux de vie. All Maison Delord bottles are hand-sealed with wax. Delord also offers older vintage Armagnacs, even dating back to 1900, please contact us for further information.
