Cigars La Galera Maduro Pilon are composed of a San Andrès wrapper leaf from Mexico, a Piloto Cubano wrapper grown in the Dominican Republic, and a filler made from Piloto Cubano and Criollo 98 tobaccos from the Dominican Republic. La Galera Maduro cigars are packaged in boxes of 20.
The Maduro line from La Galera comes in 7 different modules. The La Galera Maduro Pilon cigar is the largest in the line, a Toro Gordo measuring 15.87 cm in length and 23.88 mm in diameter. The Pilon's smoking time is around 90 minutes.
The aromatic palette begins with notes of cocoa, and in the second third moves on to more woody, spicy flavors with a touch of leather. The finish is quite creamy. La Galera's Maduro line offers well-balanced, medium-bodied cigars with plenty of flavor.
La Galera's Maduro line is produced at the Palma tabacalera of Mr. Jose Arnaldo Blanco, better known as "Jochy" Blanco, in the town of Tamboril on the outskirts of the cigar capital Santiago de los caballeros in the Dominican Republic.
