The cigar Partagas Série D N° 4 is the Robusto module of the famous Partagas brand. It is probably the most smoked Cuban cigar in the world, along with the Montecristo N°4.
On tasting, Partagas Série D N° 4 gets off to a flying start, with aromas of cedar and pepper intertwining brilliantly. Powerful from the very first third.
This cigar is 124 mm long and 19.84 mm in diameter, and will take about 45 to 60 minutes to smoke.
The Partagas Série D N° 4 is available in a variety of packaging options, including boxes of 10 or 25 cigars, as well as 3-cigar boxes in aluminum tubes. In this Partagas Série D range, you can also try the Série D N° 5 and the Série D N° 6, which are the little brothers of the Partagas Série D N° 4, but are not lacking in character.
Cuba's oldest cigar factory, Partagas was founded in 1845 by Don Jaime Partagas Ravelo when he left Spain for Havana. As the owner of several tobacco farms in the Vuelta Abajo, a region recognized as the world's «grand cru» for tobacco, Don Jaime had the best raw material to produce excellent cigars. Success soon followed, and many aristocrats of all nationalities were among his loyal customers, so much so that the factory was almost renamed «Manufacture Royale».
Under the avant-garde impetus of its founder, Partagas was the first factory to experiment with different fermentation techniques, and was also the first to employ the services of a «reader», making the torcedors' work less monotonous and, above all, contributing to the culture and education of its employees. Following the death of Don Jaime Partagas Ravelo, the factory underwent several changes of ownership, until it came into the hands of the Cifuentes family in 1940. Following the Cuban revolution and the departure of its owners in 1961, Partagas remained one of the most important factories alongside Montecristo and Romeo y Julieta, accounting for almost 25% of Cuban production.
