This positioning was a wise one, as the Montecristo Open Series is very well received by the public. The Montecristo Open Master is a long filler cigar with a length of 124 mm and a diameter of 19 mm (Calibre 50). Its module is the Robusto. These dimensions offer smokers 35 minutes of pleasure. The cigar is made entirely by hand. The dexterity of the torcedores in charge of its manufacture is verified by its perfect finish and beautiful, extremely fine colorado claro wrapper.
Only tobaccos from the La Vuelta Abajo plantations are selected to go into the composition of all Montecristo brand cigars. Open Master Habanos are no exception. One of the distinguishing features of the cigars in this range is the presence of a 2nd ring that the brand affixes just below the first, the one found on all Montecristo puros. This additional ring bears the name of the range in gold letters (Open), followed by the name of the cigar in white (Master).
The first third is imbued with a rich woody scent. We also detect the scent of cocoa, a light touch of coffee and a delicate grassy aroma. Finally, the smoker's nose can perceive a subtle aroma of pepper and lemon. The 2nd third is marked by an aromatic panel of cedar, tobacco, cocoa, coffee, spice, butter, lemon and butternut. After this complex alchemy, the smoker inherits a simplified aromatic signature made up of an earthy note. This being the case, the puro becomes particularly full-bodied. The 3rd third smells of cedar and leather. Grass, lemon and pepper are also present.
