The H. Upmann Coronas Major is a Mareva vitola, 129 mm long and 43 caliber. A wonderful milk chocolate aroma emanates from this cigar, and gives us notes of cinnamon and honey during the cold draw.
From the very first puff, aromas of cedar and vanilla are prominent, with citrus and tea notes adding to the wonderful herbal tobacco flavor that has a noticeable sweetness.
Coronas Major starts with a medium to strong strength profile, but approaches full strength in the second half of the cigar, and leaves a distinct espresso taste on the palate after the finish, which you can expect after an hour.
This is a powerful cigar that produces a very tasty smoke. Straightforward, this Corona needs to be smoked at a steady pace to avoid burning. Once made exclusively by machine, Habanos has made the right choice by now rolling them by hand, and pairing them perfectly with a bourbon to add punch and echo the cigar's herbaceous qualities.
