This Ron Centenario 30 ans 40% 70cl rum marks the pinnacle of rum from Costa Rica. The distillery's oldest barrels of American Latin rum were used for this particular cuvée, which is the result of a combination of premium rums, as recommended in the "Solera" elaboration process.
The casks are white and lightly burnt on the inside. They have previously been used to age whisky before being filled with Ron Centenario rum. Each cask is tasted before and after filling, in order to remain as faithful as possible to this unique taste.
During fermentation, an open technique is used to ensure homogeneity. After 30 years of ageing, the cellar masters allow a few bottles to be bottled, forming the jewel in the Ron Centenario crown.
At the 2011 International Spirits Challenge, this rum came first out of 700 rums selected.
