J.C. NEWMAN ANNOUNCES THE REVAMPING OF EL BATON AND DIAMOND CROWN BLACK DIAMOND, NEW ANGEL CUESTA LINE

Late on Halloween night, J.C. Newman published a video on his YouTube page announcing several new cigar projects he has in the works. In the video, Drew Newman announced the renewed El Baton, reimagined Diamond Crown Black Diamond and a new line from the company's Tampa, Florida factory called Angel Cuesta.

Newman a déclaré qu’elle resterait un puro nicaraguayen, mais qu’elle serait « plus grande et plus audacieuse que jamais auparavant ». La ligne El Baton remonte à 1914, lorsqu’elle a été lancée par Julius Ceasar Newman, qui la produisait dans son usine de Cleveland, dans l’Ohio. Après avoir disparu du marché dans les années 1920, il a été réintroduit en 2008 en tant que premier cigare nicaraguayen de J.C. Newman. The Diamond Crown Black Diamond, made by Tabacalera A. Fuente y Cia. in the Dominican Republic, is also getting a makeover. Newman said the cigar will move from luxury to "super luxury" status, with a new press and bands, as well as the addition of older tobaccos in the filler.
The Black Diamond collection made its official debut in November 2016 and uses a Connecticut havana seed wrapper grown in the Dominican Republic, as well as a binder and tripe grown in the Dominican Republic. However, the name has been first seen in 2013 as part of the Cigar Family Charitable Foundation's Toast Across America sampler.
Finally, Newman said that a number of new cigars will be coming out of the company's El Reloj factory in Tampa, but he mentioned one in particular, called the Angel Cuesta, named after the founder of the Cuesta-Rey brand. He said this cigar uses a havana-seed wrapper and will feature a pigtail cap designed to resemble a halo, to play on the Angel name.
